SUMMARY:Process Control Automation
DESCRIPTION:In today’s world\, where many of our traditionally labour-intensive industrial work-places are being transformed by modern technologies\, we are relying increasingly on computerised systems to keep everything running smoothly. But the drive towards automation places a heavy burden on those who design these systems\, to ensure that every stage in the process is controlled and monitored with the utmost precision. So for this month’s meeting\, we are pleased to welcome retired electronic engineer Tony Willcox (Arun East u3a) who spent 30 years doing just that\, all around the world\, to give us the lowdown on how it all works\, with a particular focus on the manufacture of steel. \nTo contact us about the Science & Technology group\, click here… Get in touch
