THE OCEANS AND CLIMATE CHANGE
25 June, 2025 @ 10:00 am - 11:30 am

The oceans play a fundamental role in the Earth’s climate system. They cover about 71% of the planet’s surface and have a massive capacity to absorb and store heat and carbon dioxide (CO2). This crucial function helps regulate global temperatures and mitigate the impacts of climate change. However, increasing greenhouse gas emissions from human activities are significantly affecting the oceans, leading to a range of concerning changes.
