Current Affairs group: Open Forum

Since we last met in July, much has happened in the world, and yet, in many ways, little has changed. The conflicts in Gaza and Ukraine are no closer to a resolution, while at home the Government’s headaches regarding economic and social policy continue unabated in the face of popular opposition, spearheaded by Reform UK (from the right), and soon to be exacerbated (from the left) by Jeremy Corbyn’s new party.

So, for this month only, rather than a pre-arranged topic, we’ll be holding an ‘Open Forum’, which is where I open the floor to you – our members – to share your thoughts on anything that’s been making the headlines recently. All I would ask is that, if there is a topic you’d like to raise at the meeting, I’d appreciate you letting me know in advance, so I can allocate time for it on the day.
