Dr Chris Boulton, University Of Exeter, will present on Climate Tipping Points

Climate tipping points, where large sudden and often irreversible changes are expected under gradual climate change, are a threat to the earth system. Here, we explore the current understanding of tipping points through various case studies and learn about what models and observations can tell us about their predictability. We will also look ahead to the research that is being carried out in the field, and to positive tipping points, the concept of sudden social change, to aid the global climate crisis.
