From Concept to Reality: Space‑Based Solar Power Today

Speaker: Martin Soltau
Co‑CEO, Space Solar

Space‑based solar power (SBSP) is no longer a distant dream—it’s becoming a credible pillar of future clean‑energy systems. By harvesting sunlight in orbit, where it is eight times more intense and uninterrupted by weather or night, SBSP could deliver continuous, zero‑carbon power to Earth. The implications for energy security, decarbonisation, and global development are profound.

Martin Soltau will guide us through the engineering breakthroughs making SBSP viable today: ultra‑lightweight solar arrays, high‑efficiency microwave transmission, autonomous orbital assembly, and the economics of gigawatt‑scale power stations in space. Learn how this technology could transform the world’s energy landscape and why governments and industry are accelerating investment right now.
