UK CLIMATE IN TRANSITION

The UK climate is undergoing a significant transition driven by global climate change. We are seeing hotter dryer summers, with more frequent heat waves impacting health. Also warmer wetter winters increasing flooding and affecting agriculture cycles. Associated with these changes is coastal erosion, sea level rise and more wildfires. Government lead climate mitigation and adaptation actions are becoming more urgent. In its July report the Climate Change Committee produced a list of top 10 recommendations for consideration by the government. We review these issues and discuss the way forward.
