Climate Change Mitigation

Due to excessive greenhouse gas emissions the global average temperature of the Earth is predicted to rise by +3C above pre-industrial levels by 2100. Climate change will increase the frequency of extreme weather events and grow desertification, affecting agriculture, water supply and sea level rise. Equatorial regions will become largely uninhabitable leading to mass migration. How can emissions be reduced and what measures should be taken to adapt to the worst impacts?
