Hi Everyone,
For a long time, I have been told that these lists have been useful. However, it seems from the information I have gleaned over the last two months from compiling and feedback:
- that the number of useful free webinars has dropped,
- as in many walks of life these days, scams are being run; offering free courses where it’s often only post-registration, when they ask for payment of fees that becomes clear; and they reduce the efficacy of the whole listing. Those I list as requiring fee payment have never been the subject of scams as they are all from reputable organisers,
- more people seem unable to manage the booking and joining systems than anticipated,
- several people interpret these external webinars as U3A Communities’ seminars and where they are not run efficiently attribute that to U3ACommunities,
- it takes quite a long time to compile
So regrettably, I will stop the practice of compiling and distributing these lists in future, unless anyone has alternative suggestions?
Neill
